Privacy policy
Draft. A lawyer hasn't reviewed this.
VodMine is sold by SignalPoint Software, a trade name of SignalPoint Systems LLC, a Kansas company ("we"), in the United States. It runs on your PC, and we don't have accounts, analytics or tracking in it.
What stays on your PC
Your clips, recordings, reviews, taste profile and settings stay in %LOCALAPPDATA%\VodMine. Your API keys stay in Windows Credential Manager. We can't see any of this.
What goes to us
Our license service sees these, and only to check your license and your eligibility for a refund:
- Your Whop license key, when you activate or download the installer from our site.
- Your signed license, when you download an update.
- A code made by scrambling your PC's Windows ID, so a license can be tied to one PC. It can't be turned back into the ID.
- Whether this copy has made a clip yet, as a yes or no. Nothing about the clip itself is sent. We keep the date of the first yes with your Whop membership id, to decide refund requests.
- The version of VodMine you run, and your IP address, as with any web request. We don't keep logs of these on purpose, though our host, Cloudflare, may keep its own short-term logs.
The tie between your license and that code is stored on your Whop membership. Whop handles your purchase under its own privacy policy.
What goes to services you choose
VodMine sends data directly from your PC to the services you connect. It doesn't pass through us.
| Service | What it gets | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The AI services you pick | Transcripts, chat, stream titles, frames and sometimes video of the moments being judged | To judge clips and write hooks |
| Your AI chat (Claude Code, Codex), if you connect it | The same | The same |
| Zernio, if you connect it | The clip, its text, and your choices | To post it to your accounts |
| Twitch and YouTube | Normal video and chat requests | To download and record the sources you add |
| GitHub | A request for yt-dlp's latest signed release, and a download of ffmpeg the first time it's needed | To keep the downloader working and to make videos |
| Hugging Face | A download of the speech model, the first time it's needed | To make captions |
Each has its own privacy policy. Some free AI tiers may use what you send for training, and people may read it, and the Settings tab says so where we know it. Text and video in streams can include other people, so bear that in mind when choosing a service.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling offers to delete your data folder. API keys can be removed on the Settings tab, or in Windows Credential Manager. To remove your license's tie to your PC, use Remove from this PC on the License page. To remove the date your license first made a clip, or for anything else, write to melvin@signalpointsystems.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new one comes with an update, and the date below changes.
